My Current Daily Essentials

The reality of having a busy life is that we look for ways to cut corners to save time. 

Like most of you, I love my sleep and the truth is that those extra 13 minutes in bed make the world of difference - so when it comes to my morning skincare/make up routine, I keep it quite basic. 

I go through phases where I mix up my routine, either by keeping is extremely minimal, or going overboard on the blusher. I keep my favourites in a box on my dressing table and my picks are dependent on my mood (and how much time I have!)  

Unless I am going straight up basic (a bit of moisturiser and lip balm), I always wear mascara and eyeliner - I have been wearing eyeliner since I was 12 (secretly wearing it on the way in to school) and I simply cannot do without it. I see mascara and eyeliner as a part of me (lol), which is probably why I forgot to include them in the photo. 

1. Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentre 

I have been using this face cream for the past year, and it has become a staple in my routine. The cream has an emollient texture, and really helps my dry t-zone.

2. Nars Velvet Matte Skin Tint

I usually just put on a bit of concealer as I do not really like to wear foundation on a day to day basis - well that was until I tried out this. This does exactly what it says on the tin, its a skin tint and it gives me just the right about of 'natural' looking coverage I need. You can build up this foundation to more of a medium coverage, but one layer does it for me. 

3. Chanel Loose Powder

I dust a little bit of this powder all over my face; this powder is quite light and I really enjoy using it to matte out my eyelids and cheeks.

4. Nyx Eyebrow Gel

A little spot of this product goes a long way - you just need to apply a little and your brows are transformed! 

5. Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow/MAC Bronzer 

I love a generous dusting of either of these bronzers (or both!) to take care of my pale-looking skin. I have had the Charlotte Tilbury bronzer for years and I just love it. 

6. Nars Blush in Dolce Vita

This week, my choice of blush is Dolce Vita - this powder is quite pigmented so I make sure I tap off my brush before I add this to my cheeks. 

7. The Balm highlighter in Mary Lou Manizer/MAC Strobe Cream 

The 'natural' glow is something I am really loving right now - I either dust a little of The Balm highlighter across my top of my cheekbones or mix in a little MAC Strobe Cream into my moisturiser (depends on how daring I am feeling) 

8. Nyx Soft Matt Lip Cream/Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat in Pillow Talk

I am more of an mascara and eyeliner girl than a lip chick (possibly down to the fact that I lick it all off) - but when I do want to add a bit of rouge to my lips, I pat on a light coating of either of these products to give me a 'natural' lift.

So, there you have it - these products are what I am enjoying on a daily basis at the moment, but like any other lover of make-up, rest assured that this will change.
